March Events Peace Week Lantern Parade, Sale: Friday 12th March – parade starts 5.30pm from Moss Side and Longsight, Manchester adventure playgrounds Peace be with you. This years Peace Week lantern parade at Sale Water Park starts from Moss Side and Longsight adventure playgrounds. Join us at either starting point at 5.30pm. Bulb Planting, Old Trafford: Saturday 13th March CHAI and LAWN projects are green spaces in Old Trafford which we are working on to transform with the residents and Old Trafford Neighbourhood Management. Come along on the 13th March behind Ayres Road and Lilian Street to join in the bulb and fruit bush planting. Women in Faith group, Liverpool: Thursday March 18th 6-8pm Liverpool Quaker Meeting House: (Venue may change so please ring to confirm interest) Come and learn about Buddhism from two different Buddhist perspectives and join us on our last environmentally themed workshop which will be using scraps of old material or old clothes to make bunting and simple decorations. Light refreshments will be available. We are asking for small donations to cover the cost of food. RSVP to marjorie@faiths4change.org.uk or phone 0151 705211 The Big Tidy Up at Princes Rd Synagogue, Liverpool: Friday 26th March 10-4pm Come and visit the beautiful Princes Roadd Synagogue in Liverpool and learn about its heritage and see inside. This will be part of the Big Tidy Up day that the Synagogue are running as part of their garden project. Volunteers attending this day will receive training in general outdoor Health and Safety training, with a particular focus on protective clothing and staying safe during Tidy Up events on running a Tidy Up day back in your own communities. The Synagogue are keen to welcome people of other faiths and those interested in Judaism. This first at Liverpool Anglican Cathedral when guests from other world faiths in the City will be welcomed and hosted. Wednesday 21st April at the Anglican Cathedral, Liverpool. Cathedral members to host guests from the Baha’i, Buddhist, Hindu, Jewish, Muslim and Sikh faiths. Programme to include welcome and talk by the Dean about the Cathedral, refreshments and ‘Son and Lumiere’ with Professor Ian Tracey on the magnificent cathedral organ, assisted by David Bishop, cathedral sub-organists, with lighting effects. A tour of the host venue is also undertaken and an Action Plan agreed detailing steps to make the building more sustainable. All participants receive free energy saving products worth almost £50!
