
We're recruiting a (Maternity Cover) Merseyside Projects Officer to continue the delivery of our Schools Food Growing Programme, vocational training and active engagement with, and support for, faith communities. This is a community engagement post which involves working directly with people.

Faiths4Change has been offering workshops in schools on gardening and were delighted to work with Ainsdale St John's Primary School in their Rainbow's End garden. A planting day was organised by Faiths4Change and help was willingly offered by volunteers from the church and local community. Brothers of Charity Services helped the children plant in old tyres and hessian sacs and Faiths4change helped plan a rainbow of colours of vegetables, including blue potatoes!

Growing in the Graveyard
St Luke's Church in Orrell have teamed up with Billinge and Orrell Allotment and Garden Association, as well as the British Trust for Conservation Volunteers, to create a community allotment in the church grounds. Wigan Council have donated old refuse bins for rain water harvesting and timber from some leylandii trees which needed felling, were used to edge the paths. A truly sustainable project which should inspire other churches with land to spare!
HINDU TEMPLE WORK DAY
Environment Agency volunteers from Warrington and staff and service users at Brothers of Charity Services in Liverpool, came together for a day of volunteering at the Hindu Temple on edge Lane in Liverpool. The group worked hard at removing weeds, tired and overgrown shrubs. A delicious lunch was provided by the Temple and all enjoyed a fascinating and active day.
Down to Earth Faith- Liverpool Anglican Diocese environmental conference
The Right Reverend James Jones Bishop of Liverpool, worked with Faiths4Change to host a conference for representatives from parishes who want to take forward environmental action in their churches. Over 100 people attended along with a group of inspiring speakers from churches, environmental agencies and universities.
