BURNLEY COMMUNITY FESTIVAL

Returning for a seventh time, the Burnley Community Festival took over Queens Park, Burnley for a full day of family fun at the end of August.

Featuring emerging and established talent from the local area the festival encompasses the community spirit. There was live music from the local area as well as creative workshops.

There were also arts and crafts, walkabout theatre and dance performances during the festival.

It was a beautiful day for the Burnley Festival, the sun was shining and it was quite hot
So this brought lots of people out with their families.
The theme for the Faith Tent this year was ‘Peace’, and Kath dressed the inside and outside of the tent in this theme, there was also a tree out side the tent and this was
dressed with peace messages.

The Building Bridges in Burnley stand had a small tree that visitors were asked if they would like to write a prayer and place it on the tree, this was very popular with visitors.
We had a very good turn-out of people and quite a lot were interested in getting involved with BBB and Faiths4Change and wanting to participate in the next Eid Initiative later this year.

At 3.00pm some white doves were let free as a symbol of peace, it was a beautiful moment.
